2014 Jadot Clos Vougeot Grand Cru 6L
Wine Spectator: 94 Points
A suave red, with some power, offering earth-toned cherry and plum flavors lined by a firm base of tannins. Spice and iron elements peek through as this winds down on the long finish. Fine intensity.
Vinous: 94 Points
Bright ruby-red. Lovely mineral and peony high notes lift dark fruits on the nose. Sappy, dense and penetrating, offering terrific concentration and lift to its flavors of dark berries, licorice and minerals. A superb vintage for this wine, less austere than some previous years. "We're coming from an era of cooler soils to warmer soils," noted Labet. "Global warming has been very good for Clos-Vougeot." This thick but energetic wines finishes with suave but serious building tannins and superb length. Incidentally, there was no separate Hommage bottling in 2014.

So glorious with dried-strawberry and -cherry character. Medium to full body, ultra-polished and beautiful tannins and hints of stones and cedar. Very pretty and refined. Lovely length. Drink or hold. (4/2017)

The five acres of vines owned by Louis Jadot in this vineyard make this rich, bold, structured wine. Floral and intensely perfumed, with ripe red berry fruit, it’s ripe while maintaining the intense acidity of the vintage. With all that power comes great longevity. Drink from 2026. *Cellar Selection* (RV) (3/2017)

Black fruit and spice, a richly dense texture and a savory finish. Beautiful. (2/2016)

Noticeable but not dominant oak frames a restrained and impressively complex nose of earthy red currant and discreet spice elements. I very much like the textured mouth feel of the lightly mineral-inflected and notably taut full-bodied flavors that brim with sappy dry extract on the concentrated, powerful and mildly youthfully austere finish. This is a classic rendition of Clos de Vougeot that is very much built-to-age and will definitely need it too. (4/2017)
