The 2010 Grand Mayne has a chiseled bouquet with pure blackberry and raspberry fruit that immediately seduce. The palate is medium-bodied with bold tannins, perhaps just starting to becoming a little more pliant. It is certainly very dense with ample blackberry and boysenberry fruit mixed with brown spices and dark chocolate towards the finish. Though, I generally prefer this vintage over the preceding one, I discern more freshness on the 2009 at the moment. Tasted at the Grand Mayne vertical at the property. (NM)
