Sourced from multiple high-slope parcels above Marsannay, this white blends predominantly Chardonnay with a touch of Pinot Blanc from vines planted in 1988 and 1998. Poor clay soils and a southeast-facing exposure lend freshness and tension, while Pinot Blanc adds subtle roundness. Fermented with ambient yeasts and aged 16–22 months in used barrels and foudres, the wine balances bright fruit, texture, and quiet depth with a distinctly Burgundian sense of place.
92-93 points Stuart Pigott (JamesSuckling.com): "This has a very appealing citrusy vividness that deftly balances the ample creaminess and fresh-almond character on the medium-bodied midpalate. Zesty, harmonious finish. (1/8/25)"
Vinous Media: 89-91 Points
The 2023 Marsannay Village Blanc has a lovely nose with touches of white fruit, freshly sliced pear and vanilla. The palate is well balanced with a little flintiness on the entry, fine acidity and hints of butterscotch and almond toward the finish. Fine.
