The 2021 Riesling Goldberg is grown in a loess-covered mix of gneiss and amphibolite. The intense fruit on the nose has some baked pear pervaded by zestiness and herbal overtones. The palate is generous, rounded, smooth, bedded and enveloped in soft yeast yet with that irrepressible Riesling zestiness. It has an inner fire and is genie-like in its will to escape out of the bottle and bamboozle you with its energy. The long, zesty, brilliant finish still vibrates with yeast, fruit and zest.
