22 Schaefer Graacher Riesling Feinherb (95JS, 92WA)
95 points James Suckling
The freshness of spring and the fruits of fall. Astonishing finesse and slatey intensity for a village wine. Sleek and silky on the barely medium-bodied palate. Super-long and graceful finish that takes your breath away. Drink or hold. Screw cap. (8/2023)

Predominantly from the Himmelreich but from different parcels than its dry counterpart, the 2022 Graacher Riesling feinherb is bright and refined on the fresh and pure nose that reveals white peach aromas intertwined with discreetly flinty slate aromas. Round and lush on the palate, this is a quite intense and textured Graacher with ripe, elegant acidity, yet it (still?) doesn't have the sharpness and precision of the dry Graacher. The finish is mouth-filling and fruity, though, and delicate in acidity, with good length. 10.5% stated alcohol. Screw-cap closure. Tasted in May 2023.(SR) (5/2023)

The 2022 Graacher Riesling feinherb was harvested completely in the Himmelreich. Ripe lemon immediately sets the tone on the nose; the palate only adds more levity and serenity with a gentle creaminess; this almost fizzes away with lemony tanginess. This is tender and tingles with wonderful lemon brightness and an off-dry finish. Lovely. (Off-dry) (AK) (10/2023)
