100% Cabernet from Caldwell - 150 cases produced

Our 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the stunning and revered Caldwell Vineyard from vines planted in the 1980s. The site is in a caldera, a collapsed ancient volcano, with compressed ash and loam soil creating a structure and texture that is quite old-world in style. The cooler Coombsville temperatures allow the wine to exp allow the wine to express an energetic fruit profile and maintain a bright acid structure. Our winemaker Marc Gagnon decided to do a traditional fermentation for a portion of the wine in stainless, then a smaller fermentation in a Taransaud Puncheon - for added texture and complexity. This wine is exquisitely nuanced in aroma, dark, and brooding with an electric Cabernet intensity. On the palate, it is vibrant in its youth but will allow more nuance to shine through with time.
