Importer notes: "Selected old vine, massale selection parcels of Meunier planted between 1947 and 1953 in the villages of Chavot and Mancy. Soils are clay and silt with flint, small stones and chalky subsoils. Primary fermentation takes place in neutral barrels from Burgundy, aged 6 months with regular lees stirring, no malo, dosage of 2-4 gr/l. Intended as a tribute to their ancestors and to the Meunier grape."

Not yet reviewed; 2021 vintage rated 96 points by Audrey Frick (JebDunnuck.com): "Coming from the oldest vines of the domaine, grown in chalky soils, the 2021 Champagne Les Vignes d'Autrefois Vieilles Vignes de Meunier Extra Brut was aged and fermented in barrels, with light lees stirring but no malolactic fermentation. In the glass, it pours a pale straw color, and it’s both structured and fresh on the palate, although it has the fruitiness that makes it appealing on opening. It has a lively, fine mousse with delicate, salty, and peppery spice notes, and I love the power and chiseled feel of this vintage. This wine has fresh, clean, and pleasing notes of white grapefruit and salty earth that persist through the finish, and it's long on the palate, with a tailored, well-defined structure. It has fabulous energy and elegance as well. It may require more time, but it should have at least another few decades of prime drinking. Drink 2025-2045. Disgorged in December 2024, with 2.5 grams per liter dosage."
