Aged on the lees in large oak vats for 11 months, Wohlmuth's 2020 Ried Steinriegl Sauvignon Blanc offers a pure, clear, fresh, lime-scented and tangy bouquet of white fruits and wet stones (red slate). Dense and juicy and immediately fresh and piquant, this is a crisp and crystalline, very pure and salty Sauvignon with a palate-cleansing drive and clarity. An exciting, very promising picture-book wine from phyllite slate in a 65% steep vineyard ranging from 420 to 500 meters above sea level.
